About Us

PHPC is a medium-sized club of around 40-50 members. Our members range in skill from enthusiastic novices to experienced photographers. The club has a few members who are judges.

We have a number of members who run the mentoring program for our newer members to learn the capabilities of their camera(s). We are large enough to support the growth of members but small enough to be a community, where all members can know each other. The club is here to challenge us to get the best from ourselves and our cameras

2021 Photo Rally

Dear members,

Due to lockdown we have cancelled what we had planned for this year. So this year’s photo rally will be:

Still Life

Still life is a work of art that focuses on inanimate subjects. Usually, the subjects are commonplace objects. That can include both manmade objects (such as vases, items of clothing, and consumer products) and natural objects (like plants, food, rocks, and shells). This can also be for commercial purposes ie magazine, newspaper and general advertising shots.

Images must be taken between 20th July 2021 until the competition cut-off date of the 28th of August 2021.

A presentation has been created by Phil Weir and can be found on the Members Resources page.

BE CHALLENGED!
DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!
THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!

I look forward to seeing everyone’s photos Monday night 30th August.

Don’t forget the next competition is Open & Set-Macro.

Stay well.

Federation of Camera Clubs (FCC) ID Card

Hi all

In previous years the FCC has made a template available to
clubs to produce personal FCC identity cards for club
members. These were to identify the club photographers as
amateur, and not professional photographers. This helps to
avoid issues with council rangers or security personnel,
which can happen in places like Darling Harbour, around the
Sydney foreshore, and at some National Parks.

If you would like an FCC id card please let me know. We will only do one print run of these so let me know asap if you would like one.

Thanks

PHPC Exhibition/Portfolio Expression of Interest

Hi all

A number of years ago PHPC use to hold a club exhibition at Pennant Hills Library. I would like to see who is interested in doing this again.

We have two options:

  • Option 1: Members interested enters at least one (1) photo (depending on the number of people interested) as per previous exhibitions (not limited)
  • Option 2: Members that are interested in exhibiting a portfolio – a body of work that relates to each other eg 6 photos each (limited numbers of members approx 10 members) see example below – Elaine Holliday from the Hornsby Heights Camera Club Portfolio Exhibition they held earlier this year

This will require the following:

  • Option 1: members will have to pick and mount their own photo(s) as per the rules of the exhibition
  • Option 2: members interested in this options will commit to meeting monthly to discuss the when, where and how of the portfolio exhibition

Elaine’s Portfolio

Please respond to me via email telling me which option you are interested in being part of by Sunday 6th June 2021. This will enable the committee with a direction to move forward.

Any questions please email or phone me.

Kind regards

Nancy
