Alone, together: Photography Competition

A picture says 1000 words, so Hornsby Shire Council is inviting residents to share their experience of the Covid pandemic in pictures. The Alone, Together: Photography Competition looks to bring people together to connect with each other and the wider local community. It seeks to promote wellbeing through creativity, and solidarity through shared experience.

The Competition is open to Hornsby Shire residents of any age. The prize pool is worth over $6000 and includes cash and Westfield gift vouchers.

Residents can submit up to two photos that answer the question, “What does the Covid pandemic mean to me?”. These may be photos may have been taken over the course of the pandemic or, can be generated in response to the photography competition opportunity. To ensure that the meaning of the photo is understood, all submissions will require an explanation of up to 100 words. Photos will be judged in age categories.

The finalists’ and winning entries will be compiled into an online exhibition that represents the widest varieties of thoughts and experiences of the pandemic. The winning entries will be printed and displayed in Westfield Hornsby from Monday 29 November 2021.

Entries are now open and close on Sunday 14 November 2021.
