WELCOME TO 2024! – PICNIC/BARBECUE
3RD FEBRUARY AT 11AM
UPPER MCKELL PARK, BROOKLYN
Welcome to 2024 and looking forward to catching up with everyone for our first meet-up for the year.
Please note the change in venue from the calendar provided at the end of last year.
The venue is now at Upper McKell Park, Brooklyn
There are many options for lunch, including bring something to barbecue, bring a picnic or even walk down to the local fish & chip shop to pick up some takeaway. Family and friends are welcome and encouraged.
If you care for a wine or beer please be discreet as we are not supposed to have alcohol at the park. There is always an opportunity for a glass at the pub after.
Bring your camera as there will be an opportunity to go for a walk down to the marina and around to Parsley Bay. It is a club outing so there will be plenty of opportunities to grab some photographs for the “Our Club” competition later in the year.
Parking can be limited but we are at the upper level of the park away from the parking rush for the boats and the pool. There are two ways into the park area via Karoola Street. I am presuming that most of you are familiar with Brooklyn. You can access Karoola Street by either going past the marina the taking the right fork (turn off up the hill and follow it to the end, or you can turn right at the pub, then follow that road as it turns left, then first on your left (William Street) then at the end of that street turn right into Karoola. (Arrggh, that all sounds messy), look at the map below or use your car/phone navigation system. Alternatively it is approximately 250metres from the rail station with a short but steep set of stairs to the top.
Hope to see you all there.
Looking forward to an exciting and fun year together with lots of wonderful photography memories.
Regards
Janne
No Meeting because of Opening Barbeque on Sunday 4 Feb
