Our first meeting for 2023 is Monday the 6th February at 7:45 pm in the Pennant Hills Uniting Church hall. The agenda includes:

Comp 2301 – Open and Set – Long Exposure An image with a shutter speed of 1 second or more.
Special Zoom meeting with International Speaker (joint with Hornsby Heights Camera Club).
Comp 2302 – Open and Set Only – Australian Landscapes An image of Australia’s natural scenery with land and sky. Any buildings, people, animals or ocean must not dominate the photograph.
Presentation and Workshop – Minimalism: Three ways to take minimalist images.
Comp 2304 – Open and Set – Minimalism. An image of extreme sparseness or simplicity.

Portrait, posing and lighting workshop
This Monday (5th June) will be a portrait, posing and lighting workshop for Club Members. Studio lights (softboxes, beauty dishes etc) and professional backdrops will be provided. Bring your camera and some props (such as hats, scarves and overcoats). You will have many opportunities to shoot different types of portraits (headshots, half-length and full length portraits). Each member will also take turns being a model for the other photographers. Phil Weir, who has extensive experience as a professional photographer, will give a short introduction to portrait lighting and posing; and “cheat sheets” of some classic poses for men and women will be provided.
Comp 2305 – Open and Set – Architecture. Images showing the design of buildings, bridges etc.
Comp 2306 – Open and Set – Portrait. An image showing the essence or character of a person.
JUL 31 – 7.30pm Zoom presentation by Christopher Weeks on intentional camera movement. Log on at home. Links will be emailed closer to the date.
