All members are invited to the annual Lighting and Portrait workshop to be held this Monday, 5 June at the Church Hall.
Unlike previous workshops, we’ll focus on professional-looking portraits and fashion shots. So dress up for this workshop – smart casual, or more – and bring your camera!
There will be four different “studios” with different light setups so you can photograph different styles of portraits.
Phil Weir will also provide a short demonstration on how to light, pose and shoot a model.
In preparation for the workshop please familiarise yourself with:
- High and low-key portraits (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2Hz742mLn4) (10 minutes)
- Men’s portraits (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_ftx1nnyBs) (20 minutes).
If you can’t make it on the night, another way to take professional-looking portraits at home is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfOn-cr-Zuw (18 minutes).
Images from this workshop can be used in the Competition on 17 July, 2023 with the set subject of Portraits.
