Hello from Wildlife Safari Consultants / Journeys Unlimited / Madagascar Travel Centre.

It is a pleasure to be able to share details of our three group tours for 2019, which I will be leading.

I have attached “fliers” about the three tours. I have created a link to the full itineraries so you can directly download any you have a further interest in. This link will only be available to you for the next 4 weeks – after that please email or phone me and I will send the itinerary out to you.

I would encourage you to compare our costs with other tours led by photographers, and I know you will find that as an African specialist tour operator our prices are well below others with similar itineraries (we have just seen one for Madagascar for 2019 which is close to double our price … unbelievable !!  – so have a very close look at what is included, and what you are paying for).

Namibia.
When we first commenced our safari business in 1993 Namibia was a key destination for us (we represented the Namibia Tourism Board here in Australia for quite a few years), and it has been a pleasure to be able to have so many clients share it with us over the years. It has been a while since we offered a specific Namibia tour, so next year we will undertake a small group tour, limited to just 10 people, in custom-built safari 4WD vehicles. Unlike previous groups to Namibia, this tour will not be self-drive. Having visited the length and breadth of the nation over the years, we know we have an itinerary which delivers the best possible exposure to what the country offers. Wildlife, landscapes, people…. – an amazing destination.

Botswana (specifically for Photographers !!!).
I have often been asked which is the best overall wildlife destination, and for the past 30+ years, Botswana keeps being at the top of the list. Quite a few of our clients are very keen photographers, so this tour has been designed with photographers in mind. We have selected three very distinct areas of Botswana in order to cover a cross-section of environments and the range of animals and birds found in each area. Also, each zone has a different landscape, so once again delivering vastly differing opportunities for landscape photography. Finally, we are working with properties where there are “owner-operators” who will ensure that we have the best support for our safari. In particular, at Khwai, the lodge is set-up primarily for photography, with vehicles modified with camera mountings, plus they have a range of photographic equipment that we can use in addition to our own while we are staying there. One of the challenges of Botswana is that it is so popular that prices just keep going up and up. A number of lodges/camps now charge between US$1500 – US$2000 per person per day sharing. Our challenge was to create an itinerary which delivers uncompromising experiences but was affordable. By working with our associates at each of these locations we are able to offer a photo-safari at a price which won’t be beaten on value, destinations and opportunities. We have booked out 2 of the lodges completely (they are not huge), so if we can fill our group then we have run of the camp too. The absolute maximum number for this group will be 12. Designed by a photographer, for photographers, and delivering creative photographic opportunities, with my tips and tricks of photographing in Africa for over 35 years thrown in.

Madagascar.
You probably have seen in my previous emails, or when I have visited your club, that I think Madagascar is possibly the most amazing place on earth and how much I encourage our clients to consider visiting the island nation. Everyone on our previous Madagascar group tours has raved about just how different and unexpected things were, and rated it as one of their best trips ever. Individual travellers that we have organised tours for, come back with the same comments. If there is one place that needs to be on your “bucket list” we recommend it be Madagascar. I have now visited pretty well all of the nations over the many trips I have made over the past 20 years, and no matter what someone’s interests are, Madagascar will deliver. Join this small group (limit 12) in 2019, which I will escort to experience a cross-section of the best of Madagascar. (also see our dedicated website at:  https://www.madagascar-travel-centre.com.au )

Download any of these itineraries at this special sitehttps://www.wildlife-safari-consultants.net/downloads.html

In 2019 on all tours we have an absolutely limited number of rooms and/or vehicle space. Also, there are only 1 or 2 single rooms available on any tour, and sharing may be required. For these reasons we genuinely encourage you to make your booking as early as possible.

I look forward to having you join me on one of our escorted tours in 2019.

Regards,

Dennis Jones (Dee Why Camera Club)
