Our own member, Don Dickins, will give a presentation on the topic of Still Life Photography.
We are familiar with still life photographs of food, flowers, bottles of wine, shoes, jewellery, appliances and equipment as used in advertising. Still life photography, the depiction and arrangement, generally, of mainly inanimate objects, gives the photographer many challenges in the choice of the design elements used within the composition. Lighting, as always in photography, is part of that challenge. This presentation will help members prepare for the Competition Topic on Still Life on 17 June 2019.
Presentation 03 – Creative Photography Tips and Ideas includes (i) selecting and refining a subject from within a photo, (ii) using photoshop to import a dramatic sky into your photos, and (iii) practical analysis of photos to identify creative techniques.
