About Us

PHPC is a medium-sized club of around 40-50 members. Our members range in skill from enthusiastic novices to experienced photographers. The club has a few members who are judges.

We have a number of members who run the mentoring program for our newer members to learn the capabilities of their camera(s). We are large enough to support the growth of members but small enough to be a community, where all members can know each other. The club is here to challenge us to get the best from ourselves and our cameras

Presentation – Monday night 6th July 2020 – Zoom log in

Hi all members,

I hope you are well. I hope to have news soon as too when we can start meeting back at the hall (with COVID 19 guidelines in place of course).

Due to our Christmas in July dinner being cancelled, we have been fortunate to secure Robin and Timothy Moon to present to us ‘Married to Photography’ – two very successful photographers who just happen to be married… or were they married and then became successful photographers? You can see their work on their websites and Wanderlust Imagery Facebook Page.

Nancy (David) Morley is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Competition Open & Set-Architecture Online Scoring is now open

Hi All

It is long past time to participate in on-line scoring of fellow club members’ photos.

  • Go into the PHPC website and click on MEMBERS panel.
  • When this opens up, on the right hand side click on the blue panel with the star, labelled On Line Scoring.
  • A page headed Online Scoring for 05 Open & Set – Architecture will appear with the eight categories of photos in the competition. Read Online Scoring Information and use the score out of five.  Click on the first category and follow the instructions in the green panel: How to use this page.

Critiquing other’s photographs is a good way to develop your understanding of photography. Closes Friday 26th June.  Enjoy and learn.

Thanks

Competition 03 Members’ Choice Results

The Members’ Choice voting period has been closed before the extended deadline because we had a system issue, and few further members were voting. Apologies to those members intending to vote and who missed out.

The results are in! About half of our club members voted so the results are a fair reflection of members’ opinions.

The table below shows the entries that gained 60 stars or more, together with the judge’s awards. There is broad alignment but not complete agreement, which is to be expected.

Congratulations all for your very creative (and open) entries!
